For three days on August 30th, 31st and September 1st, Sri Swamiji gave lectures on Vedanta at the historical Halloway college in Egham, Surrey. Sri Swamiji arrived in Egham on 29th evening and was welcomed by the participants and a Scottish bag piper led the procession from the entrance to the Vedanta lecture place. Sri Swamiji was enthralled by the playing of the bag pipe instrument and was pleased with its soft and colorful sound. The procession being led by a pipe instrument resembled the traditional reception in South India with a Nada Swaram. In the reception function, Sri Radha Krishna, course instructor gave a brief over view of the teachings in the coming three days. Sri Swamiji spoke briefly and conveyed the message that there would come a moment in everybody's life, when he would think of the deeper truths of his existence. The coming three days would start that process, said Sri Swamiji. For the next three days, Sri Swamiji led the participants through the intricate path of Advaita Vedanta and in a fourteen lesson system, Sri Swamiji demolished the myths and illusions of our concept of I, Ego, attachment to body and the senses etc. The simplicity of the presentation and lucid examples to prove the point made the participants feel that they were not being subjected to the haughty and complexity of Vedanta learning. The rich greenery which surrounded the entire campus of Royal Halloway University complimented the subject of the course and one could easily spot participants sitting alone in the nature, contemplating that day's lecture. More than 150 participants from England and main land Europe participated. Photos from those memorable days of learning...............
