Atri Varada Raja Dattatreya
Sri Swamiji visited the Machilipatnam Ashrama and performed the 12th anniversary Kumbhabhisheka of Atri Varada Swamy Dattatreya and Anagha Devi on the 17th February 2003 at 11.55 AM. During the Kumbhabhisheka Speech, Sri Swamiji remembered the magnificent service of Late Sri. Gajjala Veera Raghava Swamy and Smt. Seethamma who donated the Ashrama land in the heart of the city.
Machilipatnam has a illustrious history and is a verily the cultural capital of the district. Many a great personalities have hailed from this small town near the Bay of Bengal Sea. Sri Swamiji too has said that He has a deep affinity with this town. Many persons serving Swamiji in Mysore Ashrama have come from this town.
The evening Satsang was held in the sprawling grounds of Hindu College.
On 17th evening, Sri Swamiji visited the Hayagreeva temple and Vaikhanasa Agama school run by Sri Vedantam Ananta Padmanabhaacharyulu, the octogenarian scholar of Vaikhanasa Agama. Devotees may remember that he was the head priest during the consecration of Lord Datta Venkateshwara in Mysore Ashrama.
