Daam Dattanatha Kshetra

About Kamareddy Ashrama: This is a town in Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh. (Geographically, this is in Deccan Plateau, mythologically called as Dandakaranya). Sri Swamiji had been visiting this place since 1986. Discipline, Steady developments and service to the poverty stricken people have been the hallmarks of the local institution, Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Trust – Kamareddy. His Holiness consecrated the 7th Navanatha Kshetram with seed letter “DAAM” in the year 2000. Apart from Temple Complex consisting of shrines of “DAAM Dattanatha”, Maha Ganapati and Gowri; free dispensary, Annadana Hall, Guru Nilayam are the main buildings in this Ashrama. Conduct of Weekly Free Dispensary, Poor Feeding and Conduct of all major functions of Datta Peetham are the important activities here.

Sri Swamiji arrived in Kamareddy at 4.30 PM from Vijayawada. Trustees and devotees received him with great enthusiasm and devotion in the outskirts of the town. Swagata Sabha (Welcome Function) commenced at 6.30 PM. Dr.B Iswar Das, executive Trustee of the Gnana Bodha Sabha welcomed His Holiness and submitted the activity report. Dr. Ayachitam Nateswara Sarma, poet and Sanskrit lecturer read out the welcome stanzas in Sanskrit. Devotees from various towns of the district Nizamabad (in which this town is located) participated in large number. Trustees Gangadhar & B Seetarama Rao offered garlands to His holiness and Members of Matrumandali offered a golden ornament to Sadguru deva on this occasion. Volunteers zealously sung the welcome compositions. Speaking on the occasion, Pujya Swamiji narrated an oft-repeated story about Guru Upadesham and exhorted all those to realise the importance of an association with Sadguru. Kakada Arati was performed in the night.

In the morning, Sri Swamiji performed Sri Chakra Puja as the Ashrama premises was packed with thousands of devotees thronging to have Darshan of Sri Swamiji, who came here after 3 years. Later the Trustees announced a plan to acquire the adjoining site for erection of Pandals for Annadanam and construction of an Public Utility building to which public responded overwhelmingly for the Bhudanam Scheme. Master Anurag sung Hanuman Chalisa. In His Benedictory address, spoke about the Hanuman project in Trinidad and promised to tour the Telangana region extensively in the year 2004 and bless the rapidly increasing Datta Families of the region. He also permitted the devotees to commence Gnana Bodha Sabha in Nizamabad. He blessed all the Homa participants with Healing Massage roller.
Presiding over the Trust meeting in the evening, Sri Swamiji complimented the members for the unity in Ashrama activities and maintenance. He guided the members to work for the commencement of a school for Tribal Children and an orphanage. In the evening, children decorated themselves for Sri Swamiji’s Birthday Celebrations and sung some conversational songs about the mission of Sri Swamiji.

Sri Swamiji left for Ramachandrapuram (Patancheru) on the next day, concluding a visit to this DAAM Datta Kshetram in Kamareddy.
