Hanuman Jayanti was celebrated in Datta Yoga Center on 27th March 2010. Abhisheka, Archana were performed by the Pundits and hundreds of devotees witnessed the programs. Hanuman was decorated in green - to represent the earth day that was observed. Pujya Sri Swamiji performed Maha Mangala Arati. Standing inside the shrine, Sri Swamiji spoke thus "In Kerala state in India, devotees make a unique sound which they consider favourable to Hanuman. I will offer that type of sound now. Devotees may also chant and make the sound likewise". Saying so, Sri Swamiji vibrated His lips using the two right hand fingers and producing a high pitched "ulululululu" sound. (like Africans do). Hundreds of devotees made that sound and a unique form of worship had started. Hanuman seemed to be greatly smiling. Sri Swamiji embraced the Hanuman statue.
During Sri Chakra Puja, a new group of young devotees chanted Guru Gita. A group of Kali Devotees from Maha Kali Healing Temple near San Fernando had brought a "Pancha Mukha Hanuman" statue to be blessed by Sri Swamiji on this auspicious Hanuman Jayanti Day. After Blessings from Sri Swamiji, they carried the idol in a van with a procession of drummers and chanters.
Thereafter, there was "Samoohika Guru Puja". Pundit Shiva Kumara Sharma, the resident priest of Dattatreya Yoga Center performed Pada Puja to Sri Swamiji. He represented the hundreds of devotees who also performed Pada Puja from the place they were seated. Pundit's son, Pundit Varun chanted Mantras and led the ceremony. Prasad explained the significance of Pada Puja and the history of "Pratyaksha Pada Puja" performed every year during Birthday Celebrations of Sri Swamiji. Just as Arati was to be performed, Sri Swamiji squeezed the betel leaves garland and Vibhooti started to rain out of the garland. Sri Swamiji tore dozens of leaves and mixed it with Vibhooti. It was later distributed to devotees. Sri. Sieunaraine Singh, a long time associate of Datta Yoga Center and one of its earliest member spoke on the occasion and recalled his visit to Bangalore Ashrama recently and the energetic devotees who throng the Karya Siddhi Hanuman shrine there. He read out a few experiences from the book "Sethu Bandha" published by Bangalore Ashrama which narrates the experiences devotees have had with Poornaphala Deeksha to Karya Siddhi Hanuman.
Later, Sri Swamiji went to the 85 feet Hanuman idol and hoisted "Hanuman Flag" on a new flag-pole erected in the south east corner of the compound.
In the evening, Music for Meditation concert titled "Hanuman Raga Sagara" was held in the JFK Hall of University of West Indies (UWI). Prof. Sankat, Principal and Sri. Rao, Lecturer in Medical college inaugurated the concert by lighting the lamp. Smt. Savitri spoke on the concept of healing music. Slides of the details of each Raga was projected. Sri Swamiji played Ragas Rushyaketu Priya (Pranava Svarupam), Sri Ranjani (Guru Paadamu), Sindhubhairavi (Pahi Pahi Gajanana), Hiradhaarini (Shruti Laya Rupini), Chakra Vaaka (Gowri Taye), Dheera Shankarabharana (Jaya Jayee Bhava) and Saama (Raga Ragini Mangala). Sriyuths Jaitra Varanasi (violin), Mani (keyboard & vocal), Mahesh bhat (Tabla & vocal) & Trinidad's Amarnath Maharaj (Tabla) accompanied Sri Swamiji.
The concert continued till 9.30 PM. After the concert, Prof. Sandeep and members of MEDS, the organizers of the concert took Darshana of Sri Swamiji.
