Pujya Sri Swamiji in Denmark - 29th July - 2nd August 2010

Pujya Sri Swamiji visited Denmark from the 29th July to 2nd August 2010. Denmark has a registered Datta Yoga Center and has been an active participant in Datta Peetham's activities. Earlier visits of Sri Swamiji saw Vedanta course, Music concerts organised by the DYC Denmark - www.dycden.dk

On 28th, Sri Swamiji traveled Munich - Copenhagen. Sri Swamiji was received by Agastya Seikritt, , Dr. Lars Vinay and Mukunda Jeppson. The Guru Nilaya was in Melby, an old farmer town near the Baltic sea coast. Melby derives its name from a flour mill (wind mill) in the town center. On 29th, Sri Swamiji walked along the Baltic sea coast. In the evening, Sri Swamiji visited the island town, Rorvig and visited the glass blowing factory "Glasshytten". There, the designer and Dr. Vinay took imprints of Pujya Sri Swamiji's feet for a glass reproduction. In Hundested (the town where one has to take the ferry to Rorvig) Sri Swamiji was shown sand sculptures by eminent sand artists. To our utter surprise, there was a large sand idol of Ganesha made by Sudarshan Patnaik of India. It was as if Ganapathy was made to receive Sri Ganapathy Swamiji in Denmark. Later Sri Swamiji visited the dentistry of Dr. Lars Vinay.

On the 30th July, Sri Swamiji visited Hillerod. Smt. Vani Isabella Seikritt runs a health clinic. Sri Swamiji was shown the various therapies used in this fascinating facility. Later Sri Swamiji visited the famous "Fredriksborg Castle and Museum". This castle was the seat of the Kings of Denmark . Sri Swamiji toured the museum in detail. Sri Swamiji was impressed with the collection and said He liked the museum very much.

On 31st July, Sri Swamiji was taken on a boat trip on the Copenhagen sea coast. The boat belonged to Sri. Kabir Thomas, the president of Datta Yoga Center, Denmark. The reliance Denmark places on alternative energy source like windmills is really impressive. Dotting the coast, giant windmills slowly swirl generating clean power without polluting the environment.

The boat ride showed the impressive coast line of Copenhagen and also its history. We saw "Black Diamond" concert hall where Sri Swamiji music for meditation and Healing concert was held as part of "Nada Prasara" Europe tour in 2004.

Later Sri Swamiji drove on the Oresunds bridge connecting Denmark and Sweden. The new bridge is stylish and modern. The journey starts from a tunnel and when you enter the bridge you are already on the sea and the sweeping vast vista of the Baltic sea humbles the viewer.

In Sweden, Sri Swamiji visited the city of Molmo. There a large unusual tree caught the eye of Pujya Swamiji. After a brief stay, Sri Swamiji returned to Melby in Denmark.

On 1st August 2010, Sri Swamiji visited the home of Dr. Lars Vinay in Hundested. At 4 PM Sri Chakra Puja and Public Darshana was organised in Gallebjeggard, the venue of the earlier Vedanta course. During Sri Chakra Puja, Sri Swamiji explained to the audience, the concept of Puja, the idols He worships and the inner meaning of the Puja. Sri Swamiji said that Puja is worship of nature and Sri Chakra Puja denotes the worship of the Pancha Bhootas. Agastya led the singing of the Stavas. Sri Swamiji received people and Blessed the audience. Sri Swamiji made the surprise announcement that Vedanta course would be held in Denmark after 2012.

Denmark bade good bye to Sri Swamiji with this reassuring note . Sri Swamiji left Copenhagen on the 2nd August 2010.
