Sri Rama Navami Festival&New property Inauguration
1st to 6th April 2009
Pujya Sri Swamiji visited Dubai and Canada from 30th March to 6th April 2009.
The visit was to enter in to the new property of Datta Yoga Center purchases in Holton Hills near Toronto.
Leaving the busy Yugadi celebrations in Hyderabad on 30th March, Sri Swamiji arrived in Dubai on the same evening. On 31st March evening, a small group of devotees met Sri Swamiji.
On 1st April, Sri Swamiji traveled Dubai - Toronto. Canadian devotees and friends met Sri Swamiji in the airport and welcomed with warm greetings and prayers countering the cold climate outside.
On 2nd, April, Thursday, a meeting of the trustees of Datta Yoga Center took place in the evening and apprised Sri Swamiji of the developments in the activities of Datta Yoga Center and the property purchase.
As it was Thursday, Guru Day, Sri Swamiji visited the Center in Brampton and offered Arati to Lord Dattatreya. Before the Guru Puja, Sri Swamiji gave TV interview to "Telugu Bharati" channel. Sri Swamiji's incisive and witty explanations of "Samsara Bandha (iron clad grip of the material world on a person) and the misconception that Samsara does not leave a person whereas in reality it is the person who is embracing the Samsara.
3rd April 2009 was Sri Rama Navami. In conjunction with this auspicious festival, Seeta Rama Kalyana was performed. Sri Swamiji later performed Sri Chakra Puja and Sri Rama Puja. Several new releases of CD and DVD were held. They were Singapore Concert DVD & Audio CD Box, Live in Lincoln Center Audio CD, Sadguru Paduka Puja Book and audio CD set, were released by Sri Swamiji.
At 5 PM, Sri Swamiji visited the new Ashrama premises in the Holton Hill Locality and entered the Guru Nilaya and Blessed the Founding Members. Sri Swamiji directed the Trustees to continue farming.
Sri Swamiji spoke briefly and said that he would sing Rama Bhajans in the evening.
In the evening, Sri Swamiji sang wonderful Bhajans on Lord Rama. Sri Swamiji spoke on the qualities of Rama and Rama's life that inspired great people throughout the centuries.
On 4th April after Sri Chakra Puja, Sri Swamiji spoke on the cleanliness that is Godliness. Sri Swamiji dealt at length on personal hygiene each person has to maintain that would pre qualify for a Sadhaka. Though the speech and the manner in which Sri Swamiji spoke evoked much laughter, the message was profound. Don't be indiscipline with your hygiene, mannerisms and health.
In the evening, Sri Swamiji sang a Tulsidas Doha. The meaning of which spoke on the power of the name of Rama. Sri Swamiji explained that Shiva continuously chants the name of Rama and Shiva gave Rama Nama Upadesha to Goddess Parvati Devi. Lord Shiva has ruled that everyone who visits Banares (Kashi) should chant the name of Rama. Sri Swamiji sang Bhajans in different languages. More than a thousand people had assembled in the Royal Banquet Hall where the program was held.
In the late evening, Sri Swamiji chaired a meeting with the Dallas group who had come. Sri Swamiji gave critical directions to them about the proposed community hall, Bal Datta class rooms, Guru Purnima program in July 2009 and the proposed Hanuman temple.
On 5th morning at 9 AM, Sri Swamiji offered Purnahuti of Ganapathy and Rama Homa. After a detailed Sri Chakra Puja, Sri Swamiji directed those suffering from heart related ailments to come and sit in front row of chairs. Sri Swamiji asked the 3rd track of Live in Hawaii CD to be played. Sri Swamiji while giving live commentary about the sounds that were played and Sri Swamiji in detail described the method musical note heal a frayed nerve.
Afterwards, Founding members of the new Canada Ashrama were given out a memento plaque. After sitting through everyone who called on Sri Swamiji, Sri Swamiji bode farewell to this visit of Canada.
In the evening , Sri Swamiji visited Gopal's Deepa Puja Store and Kandaswami Gurukkal's Naga Pooshani Temple.
With this the Canadian tour came to an end and Sri Swamiji left for USA on 6th April 2009 at 8 AM as white fluffy snow had blanketed the region.
