Pondicherry Ashrama on the banks of river Sankarabharani at Mangalam Village (Near Villianur) in the tiny Puducherry State (formerly Pondicherry) is known for the magnificent Guru Nilayam. Sri Swamiji, was respectfully received by Sri CVS Rama Rao (In charge Trustee), Gopinath, Sekhar, Raja Ram and Bala Subrahmanyam on 27th February 2008. Students, Kriya Yoga practitioners were blessed.
On 28th February 2008,Hon'ble Chief Minister of Pondicherry, Sri N. Ranga Swamy visited Ashrama to seek blessings. After Sri Chakra Puja, His Holiness announced that small shrines for Datta and Ganapati shall be built in Kerala style. He further announced a grant of Rs.5 Lakhs to the adjacent Shiva & Devi Temple in Mangalam village. In the evening, Mayamukta Avadhoota Datta Story was narrated and special hymns of Lord Dakshina Murthy were recited.
