19th June, 2008, Swaroop Nagar Ashram
Swaroop Nagar Ashram was all decked up for Pujya Sri Swamiji’s visit. On arriving at the Ashram at 11 am, Sri Swamiji had the Darshan of Sri Gam Datta Nath Swamy and offered Arati to Goddess Maha Kali and Lord Shiva. Sri Swamiji, in His speech narrated the story of the strong devotion of 8-year-old Prahalada. Sri Swamiji said when Prahalada was asked if he was not afraid by seeing the blood stained nails of Narasimha, the dead body of his father and his mourning mother, Prahalada’s reply was ‘NO’. He was aware of the Maya and was very happy that his father Hiranyakashipu gained Moksha by being killed by an Avatara of Lord Vishnu. But Prahalada was afraid of only one thing and that was ‘Samsara Sagara’. He wanted Mukti from this Samsara Sagara. When asked for boons, a normal person would ask for materialistic things but Prahalada wanted Mukti from this Samsara Sagara, so that he would not forget his prayers, Guru Bhakti and Lord Narayana. Sri Swamiji further said that we can be friendly or angry with our Guru, but we should never indulge in Guru Nindhana.

Mrutyunjaya Homa was performed by the Ashrama priests. Devotees chanted Mrutyunjaya Mantra 66 times and Sri Swamiji offered the Purnahuti and blessed all. Sri Swamiji was very pleased to listen to the chanting of Dattatreya Stavam by Balwadi children. After the Darshan, all devotees were served Prasadam. Sri Swamiji left for Bangalore in the evening.
