In late seventies and eighties, Vijayawada Ashrama was rightly called as the "second" Mysore. Because of its devotee base and the long duration of Sri Swamiji's visits. Vijayawada was the spring board for the Datta Peetham activities in Andhra Pradesh state. In 1980, Sri Swamiji decided to build a Ganapathy Temple in the Ashrama. Sri Swamiji installed a KSHIPRA GANAPATHY (Kshipra in Sanskrit means "quick". Ganapathy who quickly Blessed devotees was installed on 16th February 1981. It was a remarkable event as it was the first temple in that part of the state. Several years later Dattatreya temple and just couple of years ago Raja Rajeshwari temple were installed. The black and white photos below depict the event in its solemnity. Pujya Sri Swamiji's youthful exuberance is brimming with Ganapathy energy.
