SRI SWAMIJI IN VENEZUELA14th to 17th July 2006 Jaya Guru Datta Sadguru Sri Swamiji's first visit to Venezuela took place on 14th July 2006 at 9 AM. Sri Swamiji arrived in the SImon Bolivar airport in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. Robert Jagadish Prasad, son of Babaji of Orlando, USA had organised this tour. He along with members of "Gran Fraternidad Universal" welcomed Sri Swamiji. That evening Sri Swamiji visited the famous Avila mountains and took teleferico (cable car) to the top of the mountain. Sri Swamiji enjoyed the picturesque sights from the top. On 15th morning, Music for Meditation and Healing was held in the Ateneo de Caracas, Sala de Conciertos in Caracas. The concert started at 10.30 AM. Sai Sudha from Los Angeles, USA lit the inaugural lamp. Antonio, the host of Sri Swamiji and Parivar gave the welcome speech in Spanish. A newly translated book on Sri Swamiji in Spanish language was distributed to the audience. Kaliji, Miguel and Bharat had put efforts for this book while Sri Swamiji was in Trinidad. Very few Venezuelans speak english. This book will be of great benefit to those who wish to get more information. Sri Swamiji played Abhogi and Sudha Kalyani Ragas as the main healing melodies. Sri Swamiji expressed his Happiness to be in Venezuela and said that it was in plans since 1976. In the evening, Sri Chakra Puja was held in the home of Sri Antonio. On 16th July 2006, Sunday, Sri Swamiji visited Maracay, a coastal city 2 hours drive from Caracas. There Sri Swamiji visited the "GRAN FRATERNIDAD UNIVERSAL ASHRAM" established by a great French scientist, Serge Raynaud de la Ferriere (click here for the wikipedia article) in 1948. Sri Sergio Gil, the present chief of the Ashrama reverentially welcomed Sri Swamiji to the fraternity. Sri Swamiji attended a 30 minute service they conducted in the temple. At 11 AM, Sri Swamiji performed Sri Chakra Puja in a large domed structure in the Ashrama environment. The sacred chants of Mantras reverberated in the grand dome and it was a very special acoustic experience. Sri Swamiji spoke to the 400+ audience and mentioned that the energy of the founder was very much in the center. At 2 PM, Sri Swamiji visited the Shiva temple in Maracay and Blessed the devotees and the temple's founder Sri. Adi Roman. Sri Swamiji asked the audience to chant OM for about 10 minutes. After visited their Homa place in the basement, Sri Swamiji returned to Caracas. On 17th morning, Sri Swamiji played the grand piano for about one hour. In the afternoon Sri Swamiji was presented a special video presentation of Tocar Y Luchar. A special classical music training program which is held for under privileged children living in the slums of Caracas and in villages. Sri Swamiji was deeply moved to see the effect music training had on children and Blessed the 40 year old effort. In the night Sri Swamiji left for Ottawa in Canada Jaya Guru Datta
