His Holiness Sri Swamiji Discourse - 9 July 2006 Sri Ganeshaya Namaha Jai Jayalakshmi Mata ki – Jai Today is a unique day. I am very happy. I bless Trindad devotees, Canada devotees, American devotees. You all heard the former Mayors of Mysore and Beloved Meerakka. They have had good experiences. They wanted to come here and see the devotion of Trinidad and the Karya Siddhi Hanuman statue. They are very happy about it. They also saw the Datta Paduka being worshipped. Guru Sadguru and Parama Guru are important. When you call Guru, it is Vrutti Guru – it means a professional teacher. Sadguru means who gives you knowledge. Parama Guru gives you Moksha. Today we are performing the worship of Guru, Sadguru and Parama Guru. Parameshti Guru is Parameshvara or Maha Vishnu. Jagadguru is only one. Lord Krishna. No one else. Many Swamis sport the title Jagadguru. I don’t understand. That is why we say Guru Brahma Gururvishnu. I am happy that we all are observing Guru Purnima for three days starting from today. I am very happy that Sanatana Dharma is sacredly respected in Trinidad. We respect all religions and beliefs. Today in this audience there are people from many religions. My religion is Nada religion. Vyaasa Bhagavan brought out all Puranas and Upanishads. He is the Akshara Guru. Shankaracharya, Madhvaachaarya, Ramanujaachaarya, Jain saints, Guru Nanak they all preached about the same goal. Path may be different but goal is same. The Lord has many names, forms and adherents. It does not matter. It is the same Vishwa Ruupa. We don’t know in what form God resides – whether in Brahma or Vishnu or Ganapathy. We learn from Sadguru about the ways and means of God. A child implicitly believes in its mother. She introduces the father to the baby. The baby believes her. Father shows the teacher who teaches the child letters and words. Father also shows Guru who teaches spiritual activities. Sadguru is a spiritual doctor. We believe his words. We don’t know how Hanuman is. Whether he has monkey face or Narasimha face. We don’t know. When Sadguru says that Hanuman has a face like a monkey, we believe. Guru Purnima is Guru Day. People observe May day, father’s day, valentine day. Like that we observe Guru Day. Yesterday night we were in Nada Loka. Today also we had good concert by Kavita. Tonight we have good music and Bhajans. Swamiji’s Bhajan says “Follow the master – faith in God – finish the game. May Lord Dattatreya, Veda Vyaasa, Hayagreeva and Dakshinaamurthy Bless us all. I bless you. Jai Guru Datta
