Vyaya Nama Samvatsara

The Hindu new year called as - Vyaya - was welcomed early in the morning on March 30, 2006, when Sri Swamiji gave the Yugadi Pachchadi (a special bitter-sweet Teertham) prepared with a heady mixture of shredded young mangoes, neem flowers and jaggery.

Sri Swamiji performed Sri Chakra Puja at 5:30 am and came to the Darshan hall and sat on the flower bedecked special seat at 6 AM. Tens of thousands of people walked past Sri Swamiji in two queues - glancing a glimpse of Sri Swamiji and touching the Datta Padukas placed on either side of the queue. They were given Yugadi Teertham, laddu (sweet ball) and later Annadanam was performed. It is estimated that more than 60,000 persons came for Darshan today. Sri Swamiji sat there till 4 PM.
