Sri Swamiji visits Suttur Village

Sri Swamiji visited the famous Suttur village, just 40 kilometres away from Mysore Ashrama on 21st march 2005. Sri Swamiji was invited by famous saint His Holiness Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Swamiji of Jagadguru Sri Shivaratreeshvara Math. The village of Suttur is the place where the Math started its activities centuries ago. Presently the Swamiji is performing yeoman service to humanity through free education and health to the rural masses.

Sri Swamiji has been a long time friend of the Suttur Math and its Swamijis.

Sri Swamiji's present visit to Suttur was to perform Mandala Abhisheka to Somanatha Shiva temple and Veerabhadreshvara temple . Sri Swamiji was warmly received by Sri Shivaratreeshvara Swamiji and villagers. After the Abhishekam to various deities in the two temple complexes, Sri Swamiji visited the famous Dasoha Bhavana building which has been doing Annadanam to visiting pilgrims - all year round.

In the ensuing Sabha function, Sri Swamiji was felicitated by Suttur Swamiji who described Sri Swamiji's relation with their Math (Ashrama) as very special. He also applauded Sri Swamiji's efforts for the sake of Dharma and humanity.

Sri Swamiji in his discourse fondly remembered his cordial relationship with previous two pontiffs of Suttur Math.

In the evening Sri Swamiji conducted Music for Meditation and Healing program in the village. Sri Shivaratreeshvara Swamiji was present throughout the visit of Sri Swamiji.

Sri Swamiji returned to Mysore Ashrama late in the evening.

Sri Swamiji looks at the BEESO KALLU (grinding stone) which has been placed in a Shrine. It is said that a great Yogi gave this stone to the king of the place in the 11th century.
