When
Sri Swamiji envisaged the divine plan of building a Devi temple in Vijayawada,
it was quite evident that it would not be a ordinary brick and mortar
temple. Sri Swamiji indicated that the temple should sculpted fully
from granite stone. This blessed project went to master sculptor Ramachary
and sons of Allagadda village in Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh.
They are familiar to Datta Peetham with their masterly Sapta Swara stone
pillar temple in Nada Mantapa. They worked for four years to build this
master piece. The three walls of the temple have (1) Nava Durga idols, (2) Nava Avarana Chakras and (2) Shat Chakras
