Raja Rajeshwari Temple photos - Vijayawada

When Sri Swamiji envisaged the divine plan of building a Devi temple in Vijayawada, it was quite evident that it would not be a ordinary brick and mortar temple. Sri Swamiji indicated that the temple should sculpted fully from granite stone. This blessed project went to master sculptor Ramachary and sons of Allagadda village in Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh. They are familiar to Datta Peetham with their masterly Sapta Swara stone pillar temple in Nada Mantapa. They worked for four years to build this master piece.

There are two chambers in this temple. The front ante chamber called Antaraalaya and the inner Sanctum Sanctorum called Garbhaalaya. The temple has a height of 30 feet. The temple tower made in the shape of a Sumeru Sri Chakra is the first of its kind in India. Delicately carved with many special features relating to Devi worship, this temple is one of the most important land marks in the spiritual landscape of Indian heritage.

The three walls of the temple have (1) Nava Durga idols, (2) Nava Avarana Chakras and (2) Shat Chakras

The entire sanctum Sanctorum and the ante chamber are sculpted with granite
