Sri Swamiji's speech after Civic Reception - 2 February 2003

Sri Swamiji is happy that the temple is finally ready for inauguration. It had been the vision of Sri Swamiji five years ago that brought the temple to Vijayawada. The devotees here were requesting for Devi temple since a decade. But Swamiji did not have permission from mother goddess. No it is there. At first Sri Swamiji wanted to install a marble idol here. But on 20th December last year, Swamiji had an instruction from Devi to install the green stone Devi idol that was in Mysore Ashrama for about five months. I personally wanted to have it in my Puja room in Swamiji’s house in Mysore. But it is all her will. She has come here in the green stone idol form. Even the story of finding the stone was quite historic. It was found in a Moslem person’s mine. He was having trouble in business. He had a normal granite mine. But When Swamiji said he had a green stone in his mine and he should give it to Swamiji, he laughed saying he has no green stone in his mine and all that is there is normal white granite stone. Swamiji insisted. Finally he found one much to his astonishment. He came to Ashrama with that stone and offered it to Swamiji. Then came the question of carving it. To find a skilled sculptor who could translate Swamiji’s vision in to art form. Swamiji found it in Muni Raju a sculptor in Bangalore. He was suffering with some medical problems and Devi removed them so that he could carve this raw green stone in to a great Devi idol. That Shilpi is here. Swamiji A Christian devotee helped us to do it. Swamiji’s devotee’s daughter too helped us. He has sent his daughter. Many devotees from different faiths have helped us. Attached to this program is the SRI MATHA names writing program. Over 200 crores names are being written. This program is without a budget. Mother Goddess is making it all work. Many of the requirements needed for such mega program are coming and falling in place automatically. I had a wish to start a school for dumb and deaf children before inauguration of this program. Swamiji made the Sankalpa and today the festivities have commenced. This is a rare temple. Many important ideas from Devi Puranas, Lalitha Sahasranama, Scriptures, Devi Navaha have been put in the temple. In front of the main idol is a ruby Sri Chakra which sits on a Kurma Peetha (Tortoise carrier). You all are Blessed to participate in all these. What may be the use of all this? Dr.Pisupati has given a lengthy lecture after lot of research.
Swamiji’s love for Sri Chakra is well known. Many Christian devotees also have learnt Lalitha Sahasranaama and follow Sri Swamiji’s Sri Chakra worship. Dr.Pisupati gave me a rare Sri Chakra photo. This photo depicts the 333 crore Devathas. Puja is a science. It is performed for Chitta Shuddhi. After Chitta Shuddhi we will have an easier path in Spiritual life. Our body is a temple. God lives in it. Our head resembles the temple Kalasha. Stomach is the front room. Ida and Pingala Nadis are the Nanda Deepa. Spinal cord is Dhwaja Sthambha. Our heart is the Garbha Alaya. This body is a temple indeed. Shareera Rachana is Dehave Devaalaya. We do it all to unite Manas and Buddhi. When we see a mouse in front of Ganapati or Bull in front of Shiva Temple, It looks at the deity in single concentration. This is Manas and Buddhi integration.
All of you are benefiting from this new addition in Vijayawada Ashrama. Many have come to Swamiji because of Swamiji’s varied activities be it medical, musical, philosophical, rituals or the like. We all are lucky. I am here for two weeks. It is a record that Swamiji is staying in one place for such long duration. This goes to show the importance Swamiji is attaching for this temple inauguration.
Mother Goddess Raja Rajeshvari is mother to mothers. May She remove the uncertainty the world faces today with war clouds we are facing today.
