9th June 2003, Monday. The much awaited day arrived. The day to consecrate and inaugurate the 85 feet idol of Hanuman, the small Hanuman shrine below the statue, the newly built idol of Dattatreya and Anagha Devi, Raja Rajeshwari, Ganapati and Shiva Linga was Consecrated.

The whole program was majestic, precise, poignant and elevating.It was magical and lovely. It was pure HANUMAN BLISS.

Sri Swamiji arrived in the new Datta Temple hall in a procession led by the Trustees of Datta Yoga Center, Veda Priests, Pundits, Tassa drummers and devotees. Sri Swamiji broke several coconuts at the entrance of the hall. After the Sri Chakra Puja, Sri Swamiji visited the Hanuman temple to place the Hanuman Yantra. It was in the Karkataka Lagna at 9.10AM. Sri Swamiji also wrote some Beejaksharas on the white tiled wall behind Hanuman Murti.

In the speech later in the prayer hall, Sri Swamiji spoke about the Hanuman vision and the intense efforts of all devotees there had ensured that the vision turned to reality. Sri Swamiji was in full praise of Subramanya Sthapathy and his team of 20 workers who worked for a remarkably short 20 months, In those 20 months, the Trinidad Ashrama saw a sea change and it was left to Sri Swamiji to come and inaugurate the complex. Sri Swamiji later Blessed Sri Basdeo Panday, former Prime Minister and who had come for the Bhumi Puja 20 months earlier. Swami Manasa and Sri Ramesh Maharaj spoke and profusely thanked Sri Swamiji for Blessing Trinidad and Tobago with this historic and wonderful temples and Hanuman Murti.

Meanwhile the Kala Karshana of all the installed deities were being performed by the officiating priests. Sri Swamiji later went to the Yaga Shala and offered the Maha Purnahuti in three Homa Kundas of the consecration ceremonies.Then, carrying the Pradhana Kalasha (the prime sacred water pot), He climbed the steps of the main prayer hall. Sri Swamiji performed Kumbhabhishekam of Ganapathy, Dattatreya and Anagha devi, Raja Rajeshvari and finally Shiva Lingam.

Sri Swamiji then moved across to the Hanuman Shrine site. Climbing the shrine, Sri Swamiji poured the sacred water from the pot on the brass Kalasha atop the shrine. More than 5 thousand people were chanting the names of Rama and Hanuman. Intermittent showers of rain did only enthuse the massive crowds of people. When it rained lightly, it felt as if the Devathas are pouring diamonds from the sky. The glittering water drops from the skies had a magical and soothing effect.

Sri Swamiji then chanted slogans in victory of Dharma and Truth. The crowds repeated the chant.

A helicopter carrying sacred waters of Ganga and Aripo hovered above the Hanuman and discharged the huge amount of water. It was a sight to behold the great Hanuman being drenched in the Ganga and Aripo water. Sri Swamiji who was standing near the Hanuman feet too got drenched. Sri Swamiji then did Namaskar to the huge feet of Hanuman and then released 61 pigeons from a cage and freed them.

Sri Swamiji then came to the shrine below in which a five feet tall red sand stone Hanuman Murti had been installed. Sri Swamiji smeared Sindhura paste and decorated the murti and performed Arati. Then Sri Swamiji went around the Hanuman and the Tassa Drumming which had made almost everyone dance to their rhythmic beats made Sri Swamiji too try a few steps.

Sri Swamiji then inaugurated the Hundi of Hanuman by offering the first Kanika (donation).

Sri Swamiji visited the shrines of Dattatreya, Ganapathy, Raja Rajeshvari and Shiva Lingam and performed Arati.

The morning session was carried live by several radio stations.

Thousands of people lined up to have Darshan of Hanuman and tie the Purna Phala coconuts which were launched in this Ashrama also.

In the evening, Sri Swamiji gave the last of the discourses on Hanuman story. Sri Swamiji's story telling stirred the hearts of all in the assembly and transported to Hanuman Loka. Sri Swamiji's five day speeches were covered live by four FM radio stations. Later, Sri Swamiji released the audio CD "Karya Siddhi Hanuman", containing Hymns and Bhajans on Hanuman rendered by Sri Swamiji. This CD will be available in dattapeethamEstore soon.
