Mysore Ashrama's 34th Anniversary observed

On 6.6.2000 (Tuesday) Ashrama reached 34 Years of Age. A small function was held at 7.30 PM in Ashrama Prayer Hall and Sri Swamiji recalled the History
"Sri Swamiji reached this place on 6.6.66. Sri Swamiji first sat in the place where there is Datta temple today. There used to be a big stage called Narayana Peetha and that was replaced by Datta Temple in 1977. Swamiji remembers the events of that day clearly. Swamiji attended a marriage of the grandson of the Late Nagappa chetty and then was brought to this place. This place is very special. This prayer hall where you all are sitting today is a great place of spiritual power. It's atmosphere has been soaked with decades of Bhajans singing vibrations and Veda chanting Vibrations. You all are lucky. The Homa Pit in the Prayer Hall has the divine fire since 1966. It's place was never changed. It should always remain so. Recently there were discussions that Datta Temple is in a very low level and that it should be raised and should be made big. Sri Swamiji does not want it to be touched. They have been so and should remain so. Happy 34th Birthday - Ashrama.
