Free Medical Camp in Mekedatu Ashrama - 12 December 2010

A free medical check up and medicines distribution camp was organised in Mekedatu Ashrama on sunday, 12th December 2010. The camp was jointly organised by Avadhoota Datta Peetham and Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashrama, Bengaluru. Pujya Sri Bala Swamiji inaugurated the program. Over 700 people, mostly tribals and rural folk benefitted from this program. Thousands come for Darshana - Shravana Shanivara - 4 September 2010

Thousands of devotees thronged Sri Datta Venkateswara temple in Mysore Ashrama on 4th September 2010. The temple was richly decorated with flowers. The event was the last Saturday of the auspicious month of Shravana - considered auspicious for Vishnu prayers. Also, the day being Ekadashi, Shanivara made it more auspicious. Sri Swamiji spent time in the temple. He lighted Shani Deepa and performed Shani Abhisheka with gingelly oil.

Pujya Sri Viswesha Teertha Swamiji, pontiff of Sri Pejawara Adhokshaja Matha and Pujya Sri Swamiji honoured Vid. Bannanje Govindacharya with "Shri Krishna Prashasti" - instituted by Sri Krishna Mitra Vrinda of Mysore. At a glittering function in Sri Krishna Dhama on 4th September 2010 evening, the great scholar was awarded. His great services were read and recalled.

4th Interstate Bhajana competition

Datta Peetham is hosting the 4th interstate schools' Bhajana competition for two days (4th and 5th Sep) in Mysore Ashrama. Over 24 schools from 19 districts of Karnataka state will be participating and there is intense vying for the championship trophy. Sri Swamiji inaugurated the competition on 4th September 2010 morning. Each school will sing among the nine Bhajans of Sri Swamiji selected by the organizers. No outside musicians are allowed. The students will have to practice and bring their own instruments. As one of the school administrator said - Datta Peetham's initiative has prompted them to employ a music teacher and encourage students to learn and sing Sri Swamiji's Bhajans.

Students of Canara school, Mangalore were the first school to start championship trophy Bhajana competition.

Pujya Viswesha Teertha Swamiji visits Ashrama

Pujya Sri Viswesha Teertha Swamiji, pontiff of Sri Pejawara Adhokshaja Matha and one of the senior most saints of India (72nd year of Peethadhipati) is performing his 72nd Chaturmasya Vrata in Mysore city. Upon personal invitation of Sri Swamiji, He visited Datta Peetham on 4th September 2010 and received Pada Puja from the students of Veda school. Sri Swamiji recalled his great services to the world and his spiritual powers. It was a unique re-union of two of spiritual giants of India. The Pejawara seer lauded the various activities of Sri Swamiji and in particular Sri Swamiji's approach of Bhakti Marga. He said that with the single force of Bhakti one can get rid of hundreds of different problems - sins - Kalmashas in mind and body.

Pujya Sri Swamiji participates in 95th B' day of JSS Rajendra Swamiji

Pujya Sri Swamiji visited Suttur Math opposite Ashrama to participate in the 95th Birthday festival of Late Sri JSS Rajendra Swamiji of Suttur Math. He was close to Datta Peetham's activities and was in particular interested in the continuous Annadanam activities - remembered Sri Swamiji. The program was presided by His Holiness Sri Deshikendra Swamiji, Pontiff of Suttur Math. The program was held on 29th August 2010.

Narahari Teertha Aradhana in Jayalakshmipuram

Pujya Sri Swamiji visited Jayalakshmipuram for two days to participate in the Narahari Teertha Aradhana (father of Pujya Sri Swamiji). Since it was almost two years since Sri Swamiji had visited here, thousands had gathered and were eager for Darshana of Sri Swamiji. Sri Swamiji also visited the beautiful Venkateswara temple in Dharmavaram Ashrama. Sri Bala Swamiji visits Harijanawada in Hyderabad - 3 July 2010

Pujya Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji participated in a Dalit Sabha in the village of Medchal near Dindigul Ashrama in Hyderabad.
Pujya Swamiji walked through the colonies of this Dalit community in a procession and blessed the villagers. Pujya Bala Swamiji offered Purnahuti for Ganapathy Homa . A medical camp was inaugurated in which more than 400 children were checked. Sri Kuppa Krishna Murthy, Vidyadhikari of Datta Peetham and Chairman I-SERVE made the introductory speech about Parama Pujya Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, Datta Peetham and Pujya Bala Swamiji. Later in His discourse, Pujya Bala Swamiji explained the mission of Parama Pujya Sri Swamiji. Scholarships were given to 10 meritorious students of the community. Books and woolen clothing were given to 400 students of SC/ST hostel of Medchal. Prior to that, clothes were distributed to 400 families of this village by Datta Peetham, Bhagyanagar Branch.

ATM inaugurated in Mysore Ashrama

Canara Bank, one of India's largest banks which has a branch bank office in Mysore Ashrama installed a 24 hour 365 days ATM
(automated teller machine or any time money) near the bank premises in Mysore Ashrama.
Senior bank officials witnessed Pujya Sri Swamiji inaugurate and utilize the facility.

School Children chant Kannada Karyasiddhi Hanuman Chalisa

Hundreds of school children gathered in Mysore Ashrama on 20th June 2010 and chanted Kannada Hanuman Chalisa in choir. It may be remembered that in November 2009, whilst camping in Bengaluru Ashrama, Pujya Sri Swamiji had composed the Hanuman Chalisa in Kannada language. This version has exact meaning of the original Tulsidas' Chalisa. The wonderful weave of Kannada words conveys the exact meaning as Tulsidas would have meant.

Chaandramaana Birthday of Pujya Sri Swamiji celebrated

Jyeshtha Shuddha Ekadashi - the Chaandramaana almanac's 68th birthday of Pujya Sri Swamiji was observed in Mysore Ashrama on 22nd June 2010. While Pujya Sri Swamiji camped in Mumbai, Pujya Bala Swamiji performed Paduka Puja at Mysore Ashrama.

Sadguru Charana Sannidhi - Special Kriya Yoga Classes - 10-13 June 2010

Datta Peetham hosted "Sadguru Charana Sannidhi" - special Kriya Yoga classes from the 10th to 13th June 2010. About 800 Kriya Yogis participated in the camp. Pujya Sri Swamiji visits London for a day

Pujya Sri Swamiji passed through London on 17th March 2010. He stayed over night in the Guru Nilaya at Euro Datta Yoga Church Centre. Hundreds of devotees came for Darshana in the evening at 8 PM. Sri Swamiji inaugurated the pound a day donation program of Datta Yoga Centre, UK. Full details can be found at the website - www.dycuk.org.
