KARTIKA MONTH WORSHIP OF SHIVA
The month of Kartika (generally in Oct/
Nov) is important for Shiva worship. The three temples of Shiva in Mysore
Ashrama receive special rituals and worshipped on all Mondays of this
month.
On 26th November 2007, Sri Swamiji performed Puja to the Sachchidanandeshwara
Shiva Linga.

Bhajan Competition in New Delhi

Amar Jyoti charitable trust, Delhi, a reputed institution has been rendering exemplary service to
the society by furthering and promoting the cause of education for children with various disabilities. Its
founder-chairperson Dr. Uma Tuli has been an ardent devotee of Sri Swamiji for more than three decades.
Dr. Tuli's efforts at setting up integrated schools for children with disabilities have been supported by
Avadhoota Datta Peetham from time to time.
In association with the Amar Jyoti Charitable trust,

Trust and Raga Ragini Trust have successfully organized a BHAJAN COMPETITION FOR PHYSICALLY AND
MENTALLY CHALLENGED CHILDREN at AMAR JYOTI SCHOOL, KARKARDOOMA, DELHI on 11th SEPTEMBER, 2007.
The competition started with the gifting of a LIFE-SIZE
FRAMED PHOTOGRAPH OF SRI SWAMIJI to Dr. Uma Tuli by Swami Manasa Datta,
Secretary, AVADHOOTA DATTA PEETHAM,MYSORE who graced the occasion as
the Chief Guest.
Children from around fifteen integrated schools in and around Delhi participated with great enthusiasm and
sang Bhajans composed by Sri Swamiji. It was a moving experience for the audience to see such children sing
Bhajans such as "Shankara Siva", "Krisnam Vishnum", "Saptashwarudham" and
many other with tremendous
interest and dedication. Amongst the audience was Master Divakar Sharma, who was a national runner up in
the Little Champs Sa Re Ga Ma competition held last year, who himself being a visually impaired child,
encouraged the participants.
Winners were awarded running shields and medals. Sri Manasa Datta Secy, Avadhoota Datta Peetham, was the
chief guest and gave an inspiring speech full of encouragement and appreciation for the children and
Amar Jyoti School. Shri Ishwar Prasad, Secy, Andhra Educational Society, was the Guest of Honour and was
touched by the sincerity and devotion of the children singing Bhajans. He has promised the audience that the
schools run by his society would do the utmost to promote the cause of such Children.
The 1st & 3rd Prizes were won by ARUNODAYA SCHOOL NEW DELHI while the 2nd Prize went to AMAR JYOTI SCHOOL. The competition which was the first of its kind held for such children in Delhi was appreciated by one and
all. The function was followed by Lunch and Prasadam for all the participants. (reporting by Datta Anirudh)

Ashrama's 41st anniversary day - 06-06-1966
Devotees present in Mysore Ashrama on
June 6th 2007 were in for a big surprise. Being Mysore Ashrama's 41st
anniversary day, Pujya Sri Swamiji, after the recording session in
Nada Mantapa, blessed the devotees with Pada Namaskara. At 6.30 pm,
more than 400 lucky devotees came in a queue and performed prostrations
to the lotus feet of Pujya Sadgurudeva. Later, Sri Swamiji went along
in a procession carrying the Datta Padukas to Datta Temple, where Kakada
Arati was performed to Lord Kaalaagni Shamana Dattatreya. Later, Sri
Swamiji visited the Datta Venkateshwara Temple for the evening Arati.

14th Annual All
India Veda Examinations
Avadhoota Datta Peetham is conducting 14th Annual All India Veda Examinations
from the 2nd to the 5th May 2007. Examinations will be held in all the
four Vedas - Rig Veda, Yajur Veda, Sama Veda and Atharvana Veda. Students
from various parts of India have arrived in the Ashrama and Sri Swamiji
inaugurated the examinations on the 2nd May 2007 in the Universal Prayer
Hall after Sri Chakra Puja.


Pujya Sri Swamiji and Bala Swamiji witness the
erudite Veda scholars conduct sacred Veda Mantras exam in the time honored
system of Veda Pareeksha as hundreds of examinees listen. Sri Raghuram,
President of Mysore Brahmana Sabha and Sri Jayaraman, Trustee of Madras
Ashrama inaugurated the exams.
Narasimha Jayanti
in Ashram
Pujya Sri Swamiji started Narasimha Navaratri festival on 30th April
2007, the day, the Narasimha incarnation took place to Bless child devotee,
Prahlada. Sri Swamiji has decided that the festival will continue for
nine days. Sri Swamiji performed Abhisheka the Lakshmi Narasimha idol
in the universal prayer hall. In the evening, Sri Swamiji performed extensive
Archana to Lakshmi Narasimha. Later Sri Swamiji gave discourse on Bhagavatha
devotees in Kannada language.

Ratha Saptami on Jan 25th and Republic Day on 26th January in Ashram
Pujya Sri Swamiji returned to Mysore on 25th January 2007 after completing the first part of the extensive Andhra Pradesh tour. It was the day of Rath Saptami, a special day to worship Sun God. In the morning Sri Swamiji had offered prayers to Sun God in Vijayawada and Bala Swamiji had offered prayers in Mysore Ashram. On 26th Jan, Republic day, Sri Swamiji unfurled the Indian tri color flag while Ashrama devotees sang in unison, the Indian National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana.
Sri Swamiji later conducted a small quiz to the Veda Students on the Indian anthem and flag. Sri Swamiji called people to be proud of their countries and nationality. Click here for photos of the Ratha Saptami and Republic Day function.
Saints Darshan in Nada Mantapa
Nada Mantapa was chosen as the venue for the Ati Rudra Yaga Committee of Mysore to invite Spiritual leaders of Karnataka to address the public. It was held from 5 Pm to 10 PM on 26th January 2007.

on 28th January 2007. An un precedent 1550 students turned up to perform
the wonderful ritual and showed keen interest to learn the Puja.
