Pujya Sri Swamiji speaks on the attacks on America
On
Sunday, the 16th September Sri Swamiji, in His discourse spoke on the
unfortunate and soul stirring events that rocked the United States of
America on 11th September. All through the week , Sri Swamiji was very
silent, withdrawn and contemplative. Before the discourse on Sunday, Sri
Swamiji observed a few minutes of silence as tribute to those who died.
In the discourse Sri Swamiji lamented at the violent slide in the moral qualities and the decay in the thoughts of the people who caused and participated in the attacks.
Sri Swamiji implored the citizens of the world to be more righteous and to appreciate the good qualities in all religions and to be sensitive to the concerns and difficulties of fellow human beings.
Sri Swamiji said that the events moved Swamiji to silence and contemplation. Sri Swamiji prayed the Lord Almighty to give courage, strength and solace to the people of the world who had to witness the violent and unfortunate turn of events.
Sri Swamiji advised people to offer prayers and not to discuss the events with children more than what was necessary.
