concert by Smt. Radha Padmanabhan.

Meaning
Refrain:
Sri Lalita Devi radiates brilliance. She shines in the form of the
entire Universe. May the Divine Mother Lalita Devi be firmly established
in my heart. May she guide my feelings and protect me.
Stanza 1:
Though She is in the left half of the form Shiva, the Lord of Lords,
She is all-pervasive. She is the repository all powers. She is the
Bestower of all boons.
Stanza 2:
Lalita Devi dispels the evil thoughts of narrow differentiation.
She blesses the devotee with purity of intellect. She resides in
Kashi (Varanasi –Uttar Pradesh –India) in the form Vishalakshi
(Consort of Vishweshwara- Shiva, the presiding deity of the sacred
place).
Stanza 3:
Lalita Devi has the expertise to grant liberation, which is the
greatest of all the desires. She resides in Kanchipuram (Tamil Nadu)
as the Goddess Kamakshi (Kama-desire, Akshi-eye-the Goddess who
fulfills the desires of the devotees by Her mere looks)
Stanza 4:
Another aspect of the divine Mother is Gajalakshmi, residing in
lotuses. Groups of huge male elephants render service to the Deity.
Stanza 5:
The Divine mother resides in the Datta Peetham in the form of Sachchidananda
(Sat-Cit-Ananda - Truth-Knowledge Bliss) and blesses the devotees
with all comforts. Truly Her form is SRI GURU, the Supreme Master.

Meaning
Refrain:
The great Yaga (fire sacrifice) is conducted with great exuberance.
By the Yaga the great sense of sacrifice (Tyaga), great enthusiasm
and great pleasures develop for one and all.
Stanza 1:
Maha Shambhu (The Attributeless Shambhu) is the chief priest of
the Yaga He has taken the form of air also during the Yaga (Shambhu-one
who creates auspiciousness). Para Shakti (The Supreme Power-the
Divine Mother) has become His Kriya-Shakti (active-power). Inspired
by the Kriya-Shakti, Shiva fanned the fire of the Yaga in the form
of gush of air. By the gush of such powerful wind, the ocean of
water became empty. Thus the huge fire-pit was formed for the Yaga
Stanza 2:
By the fire emanating from the third eye (in the middle of the eye
brows) of Maha Shambhu, the fire of the Yaga was initiated. The
flame of Cidagni (Cit-Agni i.e. the fire of knowledge) spread from
the nether world (PATALA) upto Brahma Loka (the abode of Creator).
The fire pit was decorated with stars in the galaxy as the flowers.
The great clouds of annihilation, named Puskala and Avartana were
used as the Sruk and Sruva i.e. the ladles to offer ghee to the
fire in the Yaga.
Stanza 3:
The six oceans like the ocean of milk, curds etc. offered ghee for
the Yaga.
The five species of creatures like those born out of the sweat,
out of the eggs etc. were offered to the fire. The earth, the hills,
the mountains, water, air and sky were made as offerings to the
fire. The five merged in the Cidagni (the fire of knowledge) of
the Yaga.
Stanza 4:
Thus the entire creation was offered to the fire. Thereafter all
the celestials who are in charge of the several duties of administration
of the Universe, offered themselves with great devotion in the fire-pit.
They entered the fire-pit happily.
Stanza 5:
Thus Parama Shiva (or Maha Shambhu-the Attributeless Supreme Soul)
offered the bodies of all the celestials as the Srishtakrut (the
northern part of offering) to the Yaga. Thereafter the Supreme Lord
gave up the form of air and started offering Himself assuming the
Actionless aspect (Nishkriya) of the soul. The moment He commenced
the offering of ATMA HOMA (offering of the Self), the Mother Divine,
who is the everlasting power manifested as Lalita Devi (Lalita means
delicate, fine and beautiful).

Refrain:
Lalita Devi! You are always dear to Parama (Supreme) Shiva. Oh!
Mother Lalita! You are in my heart (The sacred mother is established
in my heart). Kindly protect me always.
Stanza 1:
Your pious story is the most beautiful of all. Stealing the heart
of Shiva is the most spectacular realistic aspect of your story.
You are the graceful aspect of knowledge among the feelings and
thoughts of everyone. You are great one who created the feeling
of love in the heart of Shiva. (only in the presence of the Divine
Mother, Manmatha – Cupid, the god of love aimed the erotic
arrow on Shiva.).
Stanza 2:
You are ever in the state of Supreme Bliss in the ultimate Space
(Parama Akasha – beyond the Universe) in the exclusive presence
of the Supreme Shiva. You are ever merged in the Supreme soul. Hence
You and Shiva. are inseparable. This is so as you are none else
than Sachchidananda (Sat-Cit-Ananda - Truth-Knowledge-Bliss).
