Navaratri 1999 - Report of Oct 13

At 8:30 AM, the procession of Sri Raja Rajeshwari in a palanquin started from the Datta temple to the Nada Mantapa, followed by the numerous devotees.

After performing Kumari Puja , Sri Swamiji commenced the Nava Avarana Puja.

In the morning at Universal Prayer hall, Sri Swamiji explained about the Nava Avarana Puja as follows:-

The Nava Avarana Puja done by Swamiji is unique. He has not given initiation of the procedure so far to anyone. He does not intend to do so even to the successor. Taking the nine small Sri Chakras one by one made of the nine precious grams, turmeric and Panchagavya, His Holiness makes circumabulations, nine times with each Sri Chakra everyday. He offers Puja to the deities in each Avarana (arena) to the several deities. The world is created by the Divine Mother with her aspect 'with-attributes-SAGUNA'.

His Holiness may create Nava Ratnas ( the nine precious stones) not only from a lotus, but even from any flower. Only fortunate people can see the Nava Ratnas being created by His Holiness at the time of Maha Mangala Arati. Unfortunately some people miss the great events. Soon after Annarchana is over the devotees must come to the Nada Mantapa to see the Puja.

When His Holiness can create precious stones, what is the need for him to receive the money from the devotees. The offering is made only to wipe out their sins. Their duty is only to offer sarees, but should not demand that His Holiness should wear it. All the celestials like Brahma etc. made offerings to Agni Kunda (fire pit) as per the Mother’s order. Once the offer is made, one must not expect any thing in turn expect Her grace. Annarchana is the offering of food to the Mother so that the entire world be benefited with ample of food."

Today's morning music concert was Carnatic classical vocal by Smt. Ranjani Varma of Kerala.

The afternoon music concert was Carnatic classical vocal duet by Smt. G.S. Kamala and Smt. G.S. Raja Lakshmi of Mysore.
