Meaning
Refrain:
The Goddess Mohini appears to be enveloped by the fog of infatuation.
Truly speaking the Goddess destroys the infatuation of a devotee.
Stanza
1:
Mohini Devi, an incarnation of Parashakti (the Divine Mother) only
conquers all. The Deity in another form as an enchantress conquers
all in another aspect. Among the people of pious traits the former
Deity exists as the sweetness of knowledge. The second Deity has
the predominant trait of Tamas (ignorance). She makes one forgetful
of spiritualism.
Stanza
2:
Mohini dispels the infatuation of the celestials. She bestows Supreme
Bliss to the real scholars of Vedas. Mohini creates curtains of
fog among the hardhearted people. The mean minded people, who identify
themselves with the gross body, consider Mohini as a flow of physical
pleasures and thirst of sensuality.
Stanza
3:
Mohini is the personification of romance. She makes the demons swoon
by her allurements. Even to the pious people also, she is the embodiment
of romance (i.e. the pious people are enchanted by the spiritual
grandeur and sacredness of the Deity). She resides on the peak of
the mountain Meru. (That which stays on the Srunga i.e. peak is
called Srungara. For the demons, Mohini appears as one who stays
at the top of the mountain of love. However, the pious people consider
Her as the Supreme mother residing on the peak of the mountain Meru-Sri
Chakra. This is the difference). That is why Mohini bestows the
state of Sat-Chit-Ananda (Truth-Knowledge-Bliss) to the pious people.
