The Holy Feet of Pujya Sri Swamiji adorn the Golden Padukas
Sri Swamiji cutting a huge plate of Mysore Pak (south Indian sweet) June 24th 1999 is unique in the history of Mysore Ashrama, where thousands of devotees celebrated the 57th birthday of Sri Swamiji as per the Telugu almanac i.e. Jyestha Shuddha Ekadashi (11th day of first fortnight of the Telugu year). Sri Swamiji performed Sri Chakra Puja and Ganapati Homa in the Nada Mantapam. Thereafter, Sri Swamiji was seated on the Silver Throne and on behalf of all the devotees, Sri. H.V. Prasad and Sri. Harsha Sharma performed Pratyaksha Pada Puja. Asthtotara (108 names) of Sri Swamiji were chanted in chorus by all the devotees. The devotees of Eluru offered a big cake of Mysore Pak, a famous sweet of South India. Sri. Giridhar Gomango, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Orissa and Sri R. Venkatraman Hon'ble Former President of India and Chairman of the Birthday Celebrations committee spoke reverentially about Parama Pujya Sri Swamiji. Later Sri Swamiji performed Puja in the Datta Venkateswara Temple. In the afternoon, in the Garuda Mantapa, Sri Datta Venkateswara Kalyanam (the holy marriage of Datta Venkateswara with Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi) were performed. The unique feature of today's celebration was Rajita Thulabharam (weighing with silver coins) was performed to Sri Swamiji. The silver will be utilised for the silver plating of the Temple Car (Ratha) of Sri Datta Venkateswara. Two famous poets namely Vethavolu Rama Brahmam, Dean of Telugu University, Rajamundry, A.P and Sri Madgula Nagaphani Sharma (Chairman official Language Committee) Govt. of Andhra Pradesh rendered the fine poetry in praise of Sri Swamiji . The programme for the day concluded as usual with Kakada Arati.
