August 23 - Vinayaka Chaturthi

On Vinayaka Chaturthi Day, the programs commenced with Ksheera Abhishekam to Kshipra Ganapati by Pujya Sri Swamiji. Amidst the chants of Ganesha Sahasra Naama Stotram, thousands of devotees watched the annual Abhishekam with rapt attention. Speaking on the occasion, Sri Swamiji asked the devotees to look for the inner substance of any thing, that appears to you. Let us not stop at the superficial level, lest we want to miss the inner core, he added. He spoke about Ganapati, as the most modern and most ancient being, as propounded by Philosophy.

During Sri Chakra Puja, Varasiddhi Vinayaka Vratam and Ashta Dravya - Sahasra Modaka Maha Ganapati Homa was performed by Pundits.

In this evening, Sri Swamiji conducted a wonderful Bhajan Session, which gave two new Bhajans (Om Namaste Ganapataye in Sanskrit (Malayamaruta Raga) and O Lord Ganapati in English (Charukeshi Raga).

Sri Swamiji cautioned singers to pay heed to the finess of Saahityam (Lyrics) while rendering Bhajans. Lyrics play a very important role in communicating the feel of the song. It is improper to tweak the Words/ Syllables to suit convenience, He cautioned. He illustrated a few examples, where blissfully ignorant singers have sung compositions, which altered the meaning of the Song.

Earlier, www.ragasagaracelestialmessage.com was inaugurated, which provides information about Music Concerts conducted by Sri Swamiji under the group name - RAGA SAGARA. The website, may be visited by devotees, for periodical information about Sri Swamiji's music programs and concept.

Earlier, a Book written by Dr. Krovi Paartha Saarathy (Datta Peetha Asthana Vidwan) called Varivasya Rahasyam was released along with Albums containing series of Discourses on Uddhava Geeta and Sree Sookta by him.
