    Dattatreya Jayanti celebrations started in Mysore Ashrama on monday, 30 November 2009.

    Pujya Sri Swamiji performed Sri Chakra Puja at 8 am. At 9 am, Datta Peetham's coveted title "Vishwa Hindu" was conferred on Sri. Lallan Prasad Vyas, Chairman of Vishwa Sahitya Sanskriti Sansthan, New Delhi.

    Sridevi Isabelle Fleischut of France offered to Sri Swamiji the French translation of Silent Teacher (Originally in English, author - Shabari Ursula Honeggar) and a Brief biography of Pujya Swamiji in French. Later, Pujya Sri Swamiji offered cooked rice to Lord Dattatreya in memory of the departed souls (Punya Smaranam), who have rendered service to Datta Peetham.

    At 3 pm, Datta Peetham unveiled a new phenomenon in the sculptural heritage of India. 365 Janma Dina Stupas (birth date pillars) were inaugurated representing each day of the year. Each of these stone pillar has rich carvings associated with the features of that day. These pillars are scattered throughout the green environs of the Ashrama. Envisioned by Pujya Sri Swamiji, well-known sculptors Sri Durugadda Pothuluraiah and Shri Durugadda Tirumalachari and team took a little over 4 years to complete this project. The sculptures portray the following heritage symbols of India in these pillars.

    • 16 Datta Kshetras
    • Navanatha Temples
    • Ashtadasha Shakti Peethas
    • Ashta Lakshmi
    • Dashavatara
    • 24 Keshava Namavali

    • Pancha Brahmas
    • 4 Veda

The inauguration of the stone pillars was done by Sri. Ashok Singhal, President, Vishwa Hindu Parishad in the divine presence of Pujya Sri Swamiji, Bala Swamiji and Swami Brahmadeo of Trinidad. Later, Sri Swamiji and Bala Swamiji placed a Yantra below each pillar and consecrated the 365 pillars spread across the Ashrama.

At 7 pm, Bhajan groups from Mysore, Cochin, Chennai and Hyderabad sang 5 Bhajans each.
Sri Swamiji in his concluding remarks called for more understanding of Shruti and Laya by Bhajan singers.
