Devi Navaratri festival took off in Hyderabad (Bhagyanagaram) Ashrama in a grand and divine manner. Parama Pujya Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji arrived in the Dattatreya temple complex at 8.40 AM. After taking Darshana of Trimukha Ganapati, Marakata Karyasiddhi Hanuman,, Dattavadhuta Dattatreya and Raja Rajeshwari idols, Sri Swamiji performed Archana to the 16 Kumaris during Kumari Puja. Escorted by the Pallakki of Mother Goddess Raja Rajeshwari, Sri Swamiji arrived in procession to the Puja stage.

After the daily Sri Chakra Puja,Pujya Sri Swamiji prepared the 9 small turmeric Sri Chakras for Nava Avarana Puja. Later, installed the Kalashas around the Puja Mantapa. 3 Kalashas on three sides and two in the centre. Later, Sri Swamiji commenced the Nava Avarana Puja. Pujya Sri Swamiji performed Nava Avarana Puja in the increasing order system. One round for 1st Avarana, 2 rounds for second Avarana and so on and finally Sri Swamiji went around the Puja Mantapa 9 times for the 9th Avarana Puja. After Annarchana at 12 noon, Sri Swamiji performed Devi Homa. At 1 PM, Maha Mangala Arati was performed followed by Dolotsava. With this the first day's Pujas were completed.

At 3 PM, Sri Swamiji gave Prasadam to Seva Kartas and the Bhajan session commenced. Sri Kuppa Venkata Krishnamurthy, Datta Peetham's Vidyadhikari (Director-Education) gave Telugu explanation to some of the Bhajans sung by Sri Swamiji. After the Bhajans, 3 new Healing music albums were released. All the albums are the Live concert recordings of recent performances. 1st was "Nada - The music of Divine" - from the west minister hall in London held on 14th June 2008. 2nd was the double Audio CD album "Live in Lincoln Center" - of the live recording of the concert held in the historic Lincoln Center in New York on 19th July 2008. The 3rd release was "Live in Hawaii" - live recording of the concert in Kailua, Hawaii on 17th August 2008.

With this the first day's Navaratri Program concluded.
