Sri Swamiji’s message after Agni Pooja

(On 14-2-1999, Maha Shivaratri was observed in Datta Peetham in a grand manner. At about 7:30 in the morning, Sri Swamiji performed Agni Pooja by standing amidst blazing flames in the Homa Kunda and offered Poornahuti. After Poornahuti, Sri Swamiji brought out the Prasadam blessed by Fire God. It included a pure crystal Lingam, a Shatchakra Salagrama and a Sun Salagrama. Sri Swamiji performed Abhisheka with Panchamrita to these idols. Later, He gave his predictions for the forthcoming year)

Om Namah Shivaya! According to the Gregorian calendar, we are at the end of the millennium This is the last Shivaratri of this millennium.

The forthcoming year will see many catastrophes and strange happenings. Still, we will have protection because a pure crystal Lingam has come out this year. Secondly, the Salagrama with the aspect of Vishnu has also been blessed by Agni this year. This is of the colour of Jambrulina fruit. There are three holes in this Salagrama. They represent the Brahma Tattva, the pure Akasha Tattva and the Atma Tattva. This is a very powerful Salagrama.

Another object which has come out this year is the Sun Salagrama. This has two streaks - one is the Sun streak and the other is the Moon streak. There is some movement in these lines.

Because Sun Salagrama has come out this year, many strange happenings will take place in the sun sphere. Earth is going to experience too much heat and too much cold. There will be considerable decrease in the number of animals living in the seas because of the excessive Badabagni (mare’s fire, submarine fire). A part of the sea water will become poisoned.

There will be danger in many places corresponding to the movement of the streak in the Sun Salagrama.

Today’s scientists are still exploring the possibility of life in other planets. The movement in the Sun Salagrama indicates that there is life on some planet in some solar system. Of what use is it to the beings on earth? Those beings will protect the beings on earth.

Because the Vishnu Salagrama has come out this year, Lord Vishnu will protect us from untimely catastrophes. There are possibilities of earthquakes and fire mishaps. There is fear of war between March and December. Many internal wars will take place. Not only this, there will be no peace in the families and a lot of internal fights will take place. If we desire to have protection from all these, we should chant Aditya Hridaya throughout this year.

There is the possibility of two or more planets colliding. Because of this, herbs and other plant resources will diminish. A new disease, hitherto unknown will crop up. This is because, the divine robes of Sun God have been torn in many places. That is, there are gaping holes in the layers between the Sun and the earth. Because of this, harmful rays will penetrate the layers and damage the human body, causing skin problems. The remedy too should come from Sun God alone. These problems can be overcome by chanting Aditya Hridaya.

There will be instability in the people, government and the rulers. We should try to remain calm.

In some places, there will be no rains and those places will become deserts. Ground water will dwindle. Oil and mineral resources sill also reduce.

The period between 2002 and 2005 will be full of hardships concerning health and ecology. The mind will also waver a lot. We should try to remain calm by chanting Vishnu Sahasranama, Aditya Hridaya and the mantra - ‘Om Namah Shivaya’. By this, our mental turmoil will be somewhat reduced.

Business people need to be very cautious. Certain commodities will be in very short supply although there is enough production. The production of certain commodities will become difficult. Some other commodities will become mixed with poison and therefore, their consumption becomes impossible.

What is ahead of us in the near future is only a mini Pralaya. This is complementary to a major Pralaya.

There is only one way to escape from these catastrophes. We must first control our own mental turmoil. To achieve this, we must indulge in meditation on the Almighty Lord. We must indulge in social service. We must consider it our duty to undertake service to the nation. We must observe our own Dharma and should keep chanting the Mantra given by the Guru. We must lead a disciplined life and should surrender totally to the Almighty.

This is the message that Lord Shiva is giving to us on this Shivaratri day. There are many frightening points in this message. But, because of the power of the Vishnu Salagrama, we can remain safe till the next Shivaratri provided we chant Vishnu Sahasranama, Aditya Hridaya and Datta Stava. If this is not possible, one can undertake condensed form of worship, visit places of pilgrimage and read sacred books.

After this speech, Sri Swamiji took the Crystal Lingam, the Sun Salagrama and the Vishnu Salagrama to the Pooja altar, kept them in the Mantapa and performed Srichakra Pooja. After Sri Chakra Pooja., Sri Swamiji released "Live in Zurich" audio, video and VCD albums. Shanti Brahma (Video Cassette) and Amba (Audio Cassette) were also released. ‘Bhajana Yoga’, a Bhajan book in Kannada was also released on this sacred occasion.
