The Muslim community of Mysore hosted a public function to felicitate Poojya Sri Swamiji on 15-2-2001. This function was arranged by the leaders of Muslim community in response to the Iftaar party hosted by Pujya Sri Swamiji on the occasion of Ramzan during December last.

The function began with Muslim prayers and the Universal Prayer of Datta Peetham. It was indeed a great moment.

Several Muslim leaders spoke on the occasion and praised Sri Swamiji for His magnanimity and broadmindedness.

Sri Swamiji gave a wonderful speech in which he quoted from the Quoran and pointed out the similarities between the different religions. He drove home the message of unity and brotherhood.

On behalf of the Muslim community, Mr.Zubair Ahmed Khan offered a sum of Rs.1,00,000 to Sri Swamiji. Sri Swamiji immediately declared that He would donate this money to the earthquake relief fund

Sri Swamiji also declared a donation of Rs.25,000 to Farooqia Educational Trust to set up a fund to award cash prizes to students who pass with high marks.
After this function, Sri Swamiji paid a visit to a Muslim orphanage and expressed His appreciation for the way the institute was being run.
