New Hope

As we enter the new millennium, we must look at our society and ourselves. The general feeling is that the attitude of people and more importantly, the attitude of their leaders seem to be afflicted by undesirable factors. Is there a ray of hope for today’s man amidst the chaotic life of modern world?

‘Bhakti Mala’ strongly feels that Guru is the only ray of hope. Who is this Guru?
The effulgence that shines in the hearts of those who are untiringly striving for the welfare of mankind is Guru. It has two important characteristics namely, Prajnaa (wisdom) Prema (love). However, Guru takes myriad forms. One of such forms is our most revered Gurudeva Sri Swamiji, who, being amidst us is striving relentlessly to lead us to the path of Dharma.

Energy coupled with discrimination is Prajnaa. Prema is unselfish love. The holy confluence of the two is the Inner Light of the Sadguru. This divine candle is lighting many other candles. The beauty is, when an ordinary candle comes in contact with this divine light, it also acquires the same qualities. At a time when the modern technology is often used for destructive purposes and at a time when the so-called leaders are pretending to establish peace in the world, Sri Swamiji has been silently, but in all eagerness, spreading the divine light of Prajnaa and Prema throughout the world.

Let us take a vow on the dawn of the new millennium. Let us prevent such thoughts from entering our minds, which make us hate another being. Let us not shun, but correct those who are erring. Let us pray the Almighty Lord to help us this endeavour.
