Maataa tvameva karunaa prathamaavataara Prajnaa nidhe ! janasya pitaa tvameva Nyaayaprasoo ssakala satpatha shikshakastvam
Maargo gatishcha gurudatta ! bhavaan na chaanyah

O! Lord Dattatreya! You are the foremost manifestation of compassion. Therefore, you are like a mother to all beings. You are the inexhaustible fund of wisdom and thus you are like a father to all beings. Justice was born out of you. Therefore, you are the teacher who guides the beings to the noble path. No one but you are the path as well as the destiny.
