Sri Swamiji's visit to Malaysia

Sri Swamiji visited Malaysia from 27th March to 5th April 2001. The devotees in Malaysia were overjoyed with the visit and gave a warm welcome in the new KLIA Airport. Upon arrival in the Kuala Lumpur Ashrama at 11 PM, Sri Swamiji spoke for about 20 minutes and expressed concern over the recent disturbances in Kuala Lumpur over ethnic issues. Sri Swamiji said it was the love for alcohol that was making people lose their sense of judgment and purpose and urges people to give up drinking alcoholic beverages. Hundreds of people there came forward and gave their commitment.

On 31st March, Saturday, a Music for Meditation and Healing concert was held in Dewan Sivik auditorium.
Dato Seri Samy Velu, Minister for public works, Government of Malaysia presided and lit the inaugural lamp. He also released the Malaysian edition of the new album "Inner Self". Speaking on the occasion he recalled his association with Jnana Bodha Sabha since early 80s and his phenomenal raise in the community, which he attributed to the Blessings of Sri Swamiji.

Dr.L.Subramaniam was the guest violinist. In the concert Sri Swamiji extensively played the Raga Varam and the Bhajan Shankaram Shankaram. After the concert was over Sri Jeyachandran, Secretary of Jnana Bodha Sabha offered flower crown and Mala to Sri Swamiji. Sri Swamiji materialized a Golden Navaratna Mala to Dr.L.Subramaniam. Sri Swamiji was accompanied in the concert by Jaitra Varanasi, Mani (harmonium), Chandan Kumar (great grand son of legendery violinist of Mysore, Sri T.Chowdaiah) on flute, Shankar Ramesh on mridangam and Mahesh on Tabla.

On 2nd April, Rama Navami was celebrated with Rama Puja and Rama Taraka Homa.

On 3rd April, Sri Swamiji visited Sarawak state of Malaysia and camped in the house of Dr.C.S.Venkatesh and blessed many people who had come for Darshan. Sri Swamiji enjoyed the lush greenery and thick jungles of the Malaysian state. . Sri Swamiji had a peaceful boat ride on the Sarawak river and witnessed the gorgeous sun set on the South China sea.

Sri Swamiji also visited the traditional village and was explained about the history and tradition of the Sarawak region.
Enroute to India Sri Swamiji was in Singapore for some days and on Sunday, 8th April and performed Sri Chakra Puja and Blessed many there.

Sri Guru Datta
