His Holiness Sri Swamiji celebrated the Ganapathy festival celebration with hundreds of devotees from all over Europe at the Brent Town hall in Norh London on 6th September 1997. The function started at 10.30 with Radha Krishna of Avadhoota Datta Peetham chanting prayers and hymns of Lord Ganapathy. Sri Swamiji arrived at 12 noon and was received with Purna Kumbha and Veda chanting by the members of Dattatreya Yoga Centre. Smt. Sangeeta Dave carried the Punakumbha. Upon arrival, Sri Swamiji performed Sri Chakra Puja and Ganapthy Puja. Then Sri Swamiji sat on the throne and the Sabha commenced. Sri Harish Mistry, trustee of the centre gave the welcome speech and profoundly thanked His Holiness for visiting London and celebrating the Ganapathy Festival with all the devotees. Then Sri Duraimaniam, President of the Gana Bodha Sabha of Malaysia was called on to the satge and was requested to release the new compact disc called "Ganapati" which contains Bhajans on Ganapati, composed and sung by His Holiness. A informative booklet titled "Ganesh" carrying interesting articles on the Ganapati and Ganapati Tattva was also released.
Then Sri Swamiji spoke on the importence of Ganapati festival and the different ways it is celebrated in India. Sri SWamiji showed to all "Ganapati Mudra" and instructed that it should be performed every day in the morning after waking up. Sri Swamiji also showed the "Sarva Devata Namaskar" (respecting all Gods) . A rare Mudra indeed. Sri Swamiji also spoke on the newly released compact disc "Ganapati" and blessed all those who had put in efforts to make it happen. Devotees were thrilled and felt blessed that Sri Swamiji had shown them Then Sri Swamiji offered Purnahiti for the Sahasra Modaka Ganapati Homam.
Sri Swamiji also witnessed the programme given by "Shishukunj" a children organisation in London.
The huge town hall was full of devotees and various activities connected with Sri Swamiji and Datta Peetham. In one corner was a photo exhibotion on Ganapati, Sri Swamiji and Mysore ashrama.
